You may find that you are struggling with your mental health throughout the year - everybody does from time to time. Fortunately, there are services available to help you through anything you need. From momentary stresses to larger issues, there is something there to help you out.
Student Support & Development provide personal, academic skills, and professional development for all registered students of the University.
The Counselling & Personal Development Service offers 6 free counselling sessions to all students enrolled in DCU.
Appointments can be made through either of the emails below, and students will not wait longer than 1 week for an appointment.

The Counselling & Personal Development Service partners with Togetherall to offer a 24/7 anonymous, professionally moderated online mental health community.

Over 10 free online programmes are available to you through SilverCloud/DCU Counselling. Please email counselling@dcu.ie for more information.
NiteLine is a crisis helpline that is run by and for students of universities in Dublin. They offer an anonymous and confidential phone service and instant messaging service every night from 9pm to 2:30am. Call 1800 793 793.
The HSE runs an information helpline on mental health services. Freephone 1800 742 444.
Pieta House: 1890 303 302. This helpline is open seven days a week from 10am to 10pm.
LGBT Helpline: Localised helplines for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals.
Dublin Rape Crisis Centre: The DRCC runs a 24 hour helpline 7 days a week. Freephone 1800 77 88 88.
Turn2me.org: Turn2me.org provides six free counselling sessions (email, chat, or virtual) to residents of the Republic of Ireland.
MyMind.org: My Mind provides low-cost counselling to students at 20 euro per session. They are also running free counselling sessions for those who have been affected by COVID-19, including bereavement, depression, and if you are a front-line worker.
LGBT Friendly Counselling: LGBT-Friendly counsellors by region are detailed by Dublin Lesbian Line here. These services are available for any person to access.
