About the SU

DCU Students’ Union is the representative body of all 18,000 + DCU students. As soon as you become a student, you’re automatically a member of DCUSU. Welcome to the family!

The Students’ Union (SU) is made up of five full-time officers and ten part-time officers. It is the job of the Students’ Union to represent, help and support you, while creating awareness, fighting for change, providing opportunities, creating a community and running events, all for you the students! The SU is a democratic and transparent organization that always has your best interests at heart.

The SU actively pursues the engagement and participation of the general student body. The SU Sabbatical Officers and Part-Time Officers sit on many boards and committees across the University, locally and nationally, to ensure that the student voice is always heard and represented.

The SU holds protests when things are wrong, creates awareness about important issues, holds fun events, provides peer-to-peer support for students and works with staff across and the University to ensure you have the best possible DCU experience.

Students' Union Structure

SU Structure - Studens - Class Rep Council - SU Executive - Sabbatical Officers

The students are the core of the SU. Students decide who they want to represent them and what they want their representatives to do. They hold their reps accountable and ensure they are doing their jobs effectively. Over 400+ class reps are elected to represent their class. Eleven part-time officers and five full-time officers are elected by students to represent them.
